I recruit Canadian teachers who travel to Burundi to mentor our African teachers. I also gain financial support from varied schools, and other organizations to raise money to build a school for BES.

Barb Olynyk

I am a teacher, who is still actively subbing since my retirement in 2005. In 2008, I went to Burundi for three months with a couple from Edmonton to help set up an english school in Bujumbura, the capital city. In 2009, I went there for another 3 month stent. It was a very rewarding experience and I am thrilled that the school now has grown from 13 three to six yr olds up to 150 students up to grade 10.

Dianne Eustace
Vice President

After 30 years of teaching children with Edmonton Public Schools, I seized upon the opportunity to act as a mentor teacher in Bujumbura, Burundi at the Burundi English School. I learned a lot about myself in the process and, as a way to continue my work, I serve on the board as Vice President.
